Job Description

Role : QA Testing Analyst III
Location:  Wisconsin Avenue, Washington

Rate : $55/hr C2C (max)

Job Description :

The Application Quality Analyst will be an integral member of Finance Business Analytics and will be responsible for coordinating and executing system test activities. This includes crafting and translating test strategies into test plans and schedules; creating test scripts/cases/data; executing test scripts; providing timely reporting which would also include the creation of standard docs such as RTMs/FRMs, test summary reports, etc.; and conducting status calls. The candidate will ensure that all activities comply with general testing "best practices" and adhere to company policies, procedures and guidelines. The Application Quality Analyst must have good interpersonal skills so as to establish and maintain close working relationships with business and technology team members. The need to be a detail-oriented, self-starter with strong organizational and analytical skills and to be able to handle multiple responsibilities in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment is a must. 


• Evaluate business requirement and technical specification documents in order to craft test strategies and LOE assessments which would account for, durations, constraints, assumptions, etc. that are needed in order to fulfill test objectives 
• Review and validate design specifications so as to ensure requirements traceability and to determine application/component functional readiness requirements 
• Create and maintain test plans that define test objectives, methods and tools to be employed for the assigned project 
• Create or contribute to the definition of detailed project schedules, conveying clearly defined milestones for test preparation, execution, and compliance reporting activities and deliverables 
• Execute assigned tasks in harmony with the test schedule 
• Lead and/or participate in the creation, distribution, and walkthrough of software test cases, scripts and other documents surrounding testing activities and ensure that all testing activities and deliverables are conducted/produced in compliance with company standards, to include: 
o Organization, coordination and participation in test plan/case reviews 
o Design and preparation of test data 
o Progress reporting against assigned tasks 
o Raising, recording and retesting defects 
o Influence the use of automation tools to manage problems, develop test cases, execute regression and load testing, and facilitate the creation of supporting documents 
Qualifications 
• BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or 6+ years of hands on experience as a software tester 
• Solid understanding of and practical experience with systems development methodologies (e.g., Waterfall, Agile), as well as a strong understanding of configuration and release management concepts 
• Strong organizational skills, conveying keen attention to detail and follow through; excellent written and oral communication skills with an ability to interface with multiple levels of management on both technology and business related issues 
• Proficiency Quality Center/Test Director for writing test cases, test execution and defect tracking 
• Strong RDBMS knowledge (e.g., Oracle, MS SQL and MySQL) and practical experience testing on 
• Windows and Unix platforms 
• Strong, hands-on knowledge/experience with office automation tools such as MS Project, MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Word 

Required: 
• ETL testing – 2 to 5 years 
• Proficiency with SQL - 2 - 5 years 
• Proficiency with SAS - 2 - 5 years 

Optional: 
• Test automation with QTP/UFT – 3 to 5 years 
• VB Scripting – 3 to 5 years
