Job Description :
Excellent opportunity for a IMS DB2 Mainframe Analyst to grow within an enterprise environment here in Charlotte, NC. 1. Must have good understanding of the IMS andDB2 Database Concepts, Facilities and Operation.
- Familiar with Data Sharing for both IMS and DB2 with an understanding of Coupling
Facility Structures.
- IMS and DB2 internals (including DB2 ZPARM’s, IMS Parameters, commands etc)
- Database connectivity and access to IMS and DB2 from on and off the mainframe
- IMS is DBCTL only
2. Must have understanding of the MVS resources as applicable to IMS/DB2 installation and operations
3. Must know SMP/E knowledge
4. Understanding of other products in the IMS/DB2 environment
- System parameter, started task, security, loadlibs, etc.
- Link Lists, APF lists
- Memory usage (Buffer Pools, other storage requirements
- SMF Data
- JCL and REXX
- Experience with installing and apply maintenance to DB2 and IMS
- Knowledge of how to us IBM Link and interact with IBM on software issues
- Monitoring (knowledge of OMEGAMON products)
- DB2 Tools (Admin Tool, Object Comparison, table Editor or equivalents)
- IMS Tools (HP utilities, Database Recovery Facility or equivalents)
- Installation/Maintenance of the DB2/IMS Tools
5. Understanding of Lifecycle Management Practices
6. Basic understanding capacity management and its influence on configuration management of DB2/IMS Subsystems.
7. Must have performed IMS and DB2 installations, version upgrades and/or maintenance installs.
