Senior Data Modeler
Richmond, VA
Proposed individual is expected to:
Understand and translate business needs into data models supporting long-term solutions
Organize work sessions with business and IT teams to understand sources of data
Plan for collection, data cleansing, and normalization of enterprise data to support decision making and reporting
Develop modeling policies and procedures to support ongoing and new systems to ensure integrity of the data
Coordinate data models, dictionaries, and other data documentation across multiple applications
Work with data transformation teams to ensure that the model design and development is properly communicated
Required Skills:
8+ years of experience in database technologies and data design
5+ years of experience in relational and dimensional structures for large operational, analytical, warehouse and BI systems
Skilled in data profiling
Excellent communicator and be able to produce clear and concise documentation at the detail and summary level
Skilled in Embarcadero ERStudio or similar data modeling tool
Strong SQL experience in SQL Server or similar database environment
Must be an independent worker and be able to prioritize own work activities with minimal guidance and coaching in a fast paced dynamic environment
Must meet deadlines
Additional Preferred Skills:
Experience with large, complex, cross-functional applications
An aptitude for fast learning, and the ability to work well in a team environment
Retirement, Pension or Accounting industry experience
