Job Description

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administers, maintains, and implements improvements to all components of the credit union’s network environment including MPLS, LAN, WAN, vLans and routing protocols, firewalls, routers, and switches.
  • Designs and administers physical and virtual environments as it pertains to operating systems, servers, and storage area networks.
  • Administers Windows Server Operating System, Active Directory and Group Policies. Develops and maintains reliable, secure and high performing systems in a multi-site Windows Active Directory environment.
  • Evaluates network plans; evaluates, designs, and manages upgrades and infrastructure improvements; executes the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment; defines network policies and procedures.
  • Evaluates and implements improvements to network uptime and performance, including availability, utilization, throughput, good put, and latency; administers network and application performance monitoring software; and troubleshoots network issues.
  • Protects, evaluates, and improves the integrity and security of the Credit Union network, data, and workstations. Recommends, plans, and implements network access controls, monitoring and evaluation protocols; designs and leads vulnerability remediation efforts; and oversees Enterprise Security systems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a computer technical field; plus 5-7 years of advanced network monitoring experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft Active Directory, Virtual environments, HP SwitchesvSphere, Nimble SAN, and MPLS network. Network+ certification or VMware certified professional designation desired. Continual progression towards attainment of relevant industry certifications required. Credit Union or financial institution experience preferred.
