Job Description :
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for data base design, development, and administration for operational and data warehouse systems.
- Works with management to set strategic database architecture direction.
- Monitors data base performance, availability, and integrity.
- Implements data base backup and recovery procedures.
- Installs data base changes into development and production environments.
- Installs data base software.
- Performs on-call duties.
GENERAL SKILLS REQUIRED
- Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Computer Sciences or a related field.
- Strong oral/written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Experience supervising a DBA team.
TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED
- At least 7 years experience in data base administration for Microsoft SQL Server 2008/2012/2014.
- Experience with installing and configuring SQL Server 2008/2012/2014.
- Experience with migrating SQL Server data base changes from test to production.
- Experience with SQL Server performance monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Experience with SQL Server backup and recovery utilities and procedures.
- Experience with SQL Server Transact-SQL.
- Experience with SQL Server security.
- Experience with SQL Server high availability features.
ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE SKILLS:
- Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services, Integration Services, and Analysis Services.
- Experience with a data modeling using a product such as ERwin or Enterprise Architect.
- Experience with IBM DB2/LUW.
- Experience with Oracle.
- Experience with the Linux operating system.
- Experience with virtual servers (VMWare preferred).
