Role : AIX System Administrator

Location : Columbia,MD

Rate : $45/hr on C2C (Max)

Job Description :

Support is focused on the daily operational support required to maintain the security and integrity of UNIX and Linux Systems. Work involves the planning, analysis, design, development, testing, quality assurance, configuration, installation, implementation, integration, maintenance and management with regards to systems hardening and security policies.
Responsible for working closely with the Information Security team to ensure current security policies have been applied across all systems
Responsible for working closely with Information Security to develop new processes and solutions for the enterprise with regards to maintaining a secure computing environment
Uses advanced systems engineering techniques to analyze, define and document security needs and required functionality
Develops system design, considering operational impacts, performance, testing, cost and schedule, training, maintenance, and support
Ensures adherence to appropriate standards, policies, principles, and practices
Assists in coordinating the work of many engineers/administrators/developers across many disciplines
Technical Lead on multiple projects/engagements with comprehensive understanding of Systems Security and Integration across multiple platforms
Mentors less experienced engineers and other team members
Helps to drive strategic security approaches through application across multiple systems/projects/organizations
Helps to drive the relationship between technical solutions and business needs

Responsibilities:
* Install New Software
* Add and Remove Users
* Add and Remove Hardware
* Assist Users,
* Maintain local documentation
* Perform back-ups
* Audit security
* Monitor system
* Perform trouble shooting.

Requirements:
* This position required a BA/BS in Computer Science with 7-8 years of prior experience in the specific technical discipline, OR equivalent experience.
