Role : Linux Admin

Location : Baltimore,MD

Duration : 9 Months

Rate : $45/hr on C2C (Max)

Job Description :

Primary responsibility will include hands on technical support work related to the overall health and maintenance of the operating system environments (Red Hat) in support of system operations. Additionally, this individual is responsible for supporting operating system changes required for the deployment of new applications into the environment. Resource responsibilities also include:
Providing hands on technical support (Tier-2) related to the overall health and maintenance of the Linux operating environments
Perform remote monitoring of server/system health and status using provided tools (e.g., Satellite Server, Zenoss, etc.)
Ability to decompose complex problems to ensure timely and accurate resolution of system anomalies before they impact operations
Understanding of server virtualization
Work with engineering and/or other personnel to identify and troubleshoot operational and performance related issues
Provide on-call support; including off-hours server administration and problem escalation as needed
Plan and execute the installation and configuration of Linux server operating environments within the AWS environment

Technical Skills Skill Years/Level of Experience

Mandatory Experience with Red Hat Linux Administration with RHEL 6.x and 7.x 4 +Years
Experience with Configuration Management 2 +Years
Experience with setting up and maintaining Linux servers 2 +Years
Experience with setting up and maintaining Red Hat Satellite instances 2 +Years
Experience with installing and configuring services 2 +Years
Knowledge of networking protocols, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LDAP & NFS 2 +Years
Development of scripts (Shell/PERL) 2 +Years
Storage administration experience 2 +Years
Virtualization experience in an operational environment 2 +Years
Experience interfacing with developers and team members for either planning or troubleshooting purposes 2 +Years
Preferred Prior work experience with large systems
(in order of preference) Good knowledge of software architecture and design patterns
Red Hat Certification
Experience working on Amazon Web Services
Education Level: Bachelors degree with 6+ Years of experience
