-Monitor the error log or event log for database errors
-Routine database maintenance, and the overall system maintenance
Maintaining and managing SQL Server disk space to insure storage is properly utilized
Performing backup and recovery
-Establishing standards and schedules for database backups
-Developing recovery procedures for each database
-Making sure that the backup schedules meet the recovery requirements
Managing Database users and security
Working with developers to tune queries, how to use indexes, etc.
Log shipping, mirroring, high availability, transaction log
Transferring Data importing and exporting data to and from the SQL Server
Creating and scheduling SQL Server jobs to perform database maintenance activity
-Rebuilding indexes
-Updating statistics
-Consistency check
Establishing and enforcing Standards
Creating and testing Disaster Recovery Plan
Providing 24 Hours support
Other Responsibilities:
Knowledge of using FTP software to transfer files to and from FTP Servers
SQL Server RDBMS Knowledge:

How to create Database Mail Profile, alerts, operators, linked servers
