Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) position is responsible for developing/maintaining/executing test cases and test plans, maintaining and adding to existing automation framework, evaluation of test cases for inclusion in regression, automation of newly integrated features, evaluating product quality, analyzing and communicating test results, defect tracking and validate performance capabilities of Javascript based video playback engines. The Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) will also work closely with developers and other QA engineers to creating and enforcing good quality assurance practices.
Responsibilities:
A passion for building test suits to find vulnerabilities in software applications.
A passion to learn and implement new technologies.
Work closely with the development team to understand the product and develop testing procedures for the new Products.
Simulate Video Playback in Web, mobile devices and Set-Top-Boxes.
Communicate test results transparently to various teams.
Strong leadership skills to assess the maturity and recommend the improvements
Detect, debug and provide solutions to defects
Attend daily scrums to provide updates and get yourself unblocked
Work with production support team to resolve problem tickets
Lead, Train and mentor other team members on testing best practices
Assist teams with feature operational readiness and effective monitoring
Quick to react and resolve issues in a co-located work environment
Qualifications:
B.S. in computer science or equivalent
8+ overall years of testing experience
6+ Years or development or test automation experience
Excellent coding skills in at least one common language like Core Java or JavaScript
Solid Understanding of image processing techniques and video analysis to automate video playback testing across platforms( Mobile, STB and Mobile).
Experience to Video Testing ( video quality and experience testing) and Video testing Automation for both video quality and video experience
Experience with setting up the frameworks, tools evaluation
Additional preferred Qualifications:
Exposure to HLS IP Video testing
BDD, TDD along with cucumber
MySQL and basic Python programming
Experience in testing Set-Top-Box and good understanding of RDK.
