Role : Performance Engineer

Location : SAN FRANCISCO,CA

Job Description :

The position of a Hadoop Performance engineer should come from the background of a senior Hadoop developer with data transformation design experience. 

The position will be in support of performance tuning and guiding development of enterprise ETLs residing on a MapR Hadoop Distribution. 

This individual has an absolute requirement to be well versed in Big Data fundamentals such as HDFS and YARN. 

More than a working knowledge of Hive is required with understanding of partitioning/reducer size/block sizing/etc. 

Preferably, the candidate has a strong knowledge of Spark on either Python or Scala. 

Knowledge of other industry ETL tools (including No SQL) such Cassandra/Drill/Impala/etc. is a plus. 

The candidate should be comfortable with Unix and standard enterprise environment tools/tech such as ftp/scp/ssh/Java/Python/etc. 

Our Enterprise environment also contains a number of other Utilities such as Informatica BDE, Pentaho, Mule, Talend, and others. Proficiency in these is a plus.
