Required
1. The consultant will have a cell phone with email and text capability and be on-call as scheduled or needed
2. Demonstrated project experience in implementing data replication and DR/BC database configurations
3. 5+ Years hands on administrative experience with SQL Server RDBMS versions 2005 - 2008 R2
4. 5+ Years hands on experience in managing backup, recovery and high availability scenarios
5. 5+ Years hands on development and tuning of databases in SQL Server with Performance Tuning and Optimization and TSQL programming
6. 3+ years of hands on query experience with SQL and scripting skills
7. Strong knowledge and experience with computer hardware, servers, network, SAN technologies, I/O subsystems
8. SQL Server database space management/storage design and capacity planning according to best practices
9. Demonstrate ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of staff and management
10. Demonstrate ability to generate entity relationship diagrams, create database documentation, data dictionaries, document system architecture, processes, procedures, and scripts
11. B.S. in Computer Science or related discipline
Preferred
1. Experience with data modeling tools such as Erwin, ER-Studio, etc.
2. Microsoft SQL Server certification
3. Active Batch job scheduler experience
4. Proficient in business requirements analysis, data modeling, logical and physical database design, data acquisition analysis and design, data access analysis and design
The consultant will
1. Manage all aspects of physical database administration including schema management; security, setup, installations, upgrades, patches, backup and recovery, space management, performance tuning and capacity planning for SQL Server 2008 R2 and 2012
2. Support application teams and their projects to enhance, troubleshoot and performance tune
3. Support SQL Server databases in Production, Test and Development environments and within Microsoft SharePoint farm
4. Install, upgrade, configure, test and deploy complex database software
5. Develop and implement database recovery plans and procedures
6. Analyze the performance of databases and recommends tuning and application changes
7. Implement user authentication and validate databases security protocols across systems
8. Reviews system design and develop new database systems as needed
9. Modifying database structure or deploying schema changes as a result of new requirements
10. Scripting batch data loads and operational job automation
