Job Description :

Customer Success Metrics Engineer: This position is a blend of metrics/engineering/ business with lighter focus on business! Candidates will be pulling metrics inward and formatting rather than presenting data outwardly to business owners.

An unprecedented career opportunity for senior operational engineers to improve complex Enterprise-wide Cloud IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) systems through development, metrics collection and operational engineering, working with cross-organizational teams to identify solutions through empirical data collection, visualization and reporting. Analysis of systemic operational issues in sites and services to ensure that the reliability and performance of the entire site measurably improves over time. An essential part of the candidate work history must include a record of engineering using open source products in a high-velocity release schedule environment. Applicants must demonstrate a passion for using automation to improve their own and others’ effectiveness. No less important is the ability to communicate clearly, in writing and in speech, with other members of the team and with partners throughout the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor site reliability and performance
  • Troubleshoot site down and performance issues
  • Develop tools and dashboards as needed
  • Document response and resolution procedures
  • Develops, runs and prepares various analyses and reports based on data
  • Engage in system capacity planning and demand forecasting, software performance analysis and system tuning.
  • Conduct performance evaluations of new technology upgrades and critical software/ hardware changes

Following experience is a plus:

  • Continuous integration tools (such as Jenkins, Travis-CI, Go)
  • Infrastructure provisioning tools (such as Chef, Puppet, Ansible)
  • VMware virtualization
  • Logstash/Graphite/InfluxDB/Grafana/Cabot and other diagnostic and alerting tools
  • Big Data - Splunk, ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana)
  • Experience administering application servers, servlet containers, and web servers (WebSphere, Apache Tomcat, Microsoft IIS, etc..)
  • Windows and Linux operating systems administration and tuning experience
  • Understanding of test automation principles and automation framework design is a plus
  • One or more of: C, C++, Java, Perl, Python, Go, or scripting experience in Shell and Perl.
  • Focus on customer experience
  • Communication skills
  • Demonstrable knowledge of networking protocols (such as HTTP, TCP/IP and UDP), load balancers, web application security and multi-tier web application architectures.
  • Critical thinking and problem solving
  • Engage in system capacity planning and demand forecasting, software performance analysis and system tuning.
