Job Description :

Required Skills: IBM

Qualified candidate will provide SME system security specialist support of Social Security Administration's (SSA) IBM firewall servers. IBM services are required to support network-related activities where the candidate must have access to IBM software code (for installation, maintenance, and upgrades). Support may include the following:

  • Maintenance of all SSA Headquarters security firewall servers.
  • Maintenance of SSA Internet Sendmail.
  • Maintenance of Domain Name System (DNS).
  • Script creation for IBM Advance Interactive eXecutive (AIX) servers.
  • Troubleshooting support of network connectivity, DNS, and Sendmail problems within SSA intranet and internet environments.
  • Implementation of Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Services.

The qualified candidate will support installation, configuration, maintenance, and upgrades of the IBM server firewalls at SSA Headquarters (National Computer Center [NCC]). SSA requires services to implement, install, customize, integrate, troubleshoot and optimize IBM firewall hardware and software in support of customer facing firewall devices which protect the SSA network.


Required:

Required experience with implementation, installation, customization, integration, troubleshooting and optimize the IBM firewall hardware and software in support of customer facing firewall devices which protect the SSA network.

  • AIX System Administration
    • Operating System installation.
    • Operating System patching/upgrade.
    • Maintain local users.
    • Maintain local ACL's.
  • AIX Virtualization
    • Manage virtual networks.
    • Manage virtual memory.
    • Manage virtual SCSI devices.
  • Linux System Administration
    • Operating System installation.
    • Operating System patching/upgrade.
    • Maintain local users.
    • Maintain local ACL's.
  • Checkpoint Firewall Administration
    • Operating System installation.
    • Operating System patching/upgrade.
    • Maintain firewall rules.
  • DNS Administration
    • BIND Installation and upgrades.
    • Manage DNS for ssa.gov, socialsecurity.gov and segurosocial.gov.
    • Manage DNSSEC keys for all SSA zones.
  • Sendmail Administration
    • Sendmail installation and upgrades.
    • Manage sendmail access lists.
    • Manage sendmail configuration files.
    • Manage sendmail milters.
  • Dante Proxy Administration
    • Dante installation and upgrades.
    • Manage dante proxy access control lists.
  • Software Management
    • Download and build open source software for:
      • BIND, Sendmail, Sendmail Milters, Dante Proxy Server, Apache Web Server, OpenSSL, OpenSSH, Perl
    • Download and build system libraries that are prerequisites for the above software.
  • Scripting
    • Create/maintain custom scripts using:
      • Perl, bash, ksh, expect, c, html, php, mysql
    • Create custom Web interfaces for various application support.
  • Hardware Maintenance
    • IBM Power 740 and accessories.
    • IBM x3550
    • Symmetricom Sysncserver S350
