Task Description:
The Network Engineer is responsible for the engineering, operation and support of the dedicated Network infrastructure - including switches, router, and firewall devices. The Network Engineer will work with the project team to engineer a QoS solution, deploy QoS and operationally monitor/report on network capacity, reliability, and availability of the sites after deployment. Provide backup support to and work with deployment lead on deployments meanwhile being conscientious of service and operational level agreements
Skills Required 1. US Citizen on US soil (required) 2. 3 year(s) of expert level experience in LAN technologies (switches, routers, wireless and firewalls) including centralized monitoring and management in large-scale, high-availability environments 3. 3 year(s) of experience in large scale LAN/WAN switching and routing implementation and operation with specific knowledge of VLAN, VPN and Metro Ethernet networking 4. 2 year(s) of Operational experience with QoS and LAN traffic management techniques 5. 2 year(s) Large scale QoS project deployment experience 5. 2 year(s) of experience in IT infrastructure, TCP/IP, networking and information system security principles, practices and technologies 6. 2 year(s) of experience working with core Internet routing protocols and services 7. 2 year(s) of experience working with intrusion detection systems and intrusion prevention system technology 8. Cisco-CCNA/CCNP-Cert. Route & Switch 9. Cisco-CCNA/CCNP-Cert. Voice
7+ years of Hands-on experience with 3+ years of MPLS experience is required in migrating and managing a diverse wide area network. Masters or Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, 4 years of addition related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. Excellent knowledge of Internet technologies and networking. Must be a strong self-starter, show initiative and be an excellent team player. Must have excellent oral and written communications skills, be customer service oriented and demonstrate ownership to issues. Must be detail oriented and be able to present presentations, cost-benefit summary, etc to CXOs and other senior management staff. Candidate must have solid understanding on MPLS, MPLS L3 VPN and L2 VPN, VRF. Good knowledge of Cisco Command line structure for interface, switching and router configuration.
MUST HAVE at minimum the following skills and expertise as listed below:
Cisco switches, Cisco, 2800, 3800, 4000, 7200 and 7600 series routers Cisco ASR 9000 IOS-XR Routers Cisco Catalyst 2900, 4000, 6500, series switches IPv4 and IPv6 addressing, subnetting, etc. Strong working knowledge in the following switching (L2) elements: VLAN-S (802.1a, ISL), Trunking, Aggregation (EtherChannel, PAgP), 802.1d bridging, spanning tree TCP/IP, IPv6, BGP, EIGPR, RIP, OSPF, IPSEC |
